Wisconsin basketball is in a state of flux at the moment.
Leaving the program are veteran big man Tyler Wahl and star guard A.J. Storr — Wahl due to graduation and Storr via the transfer portal. Greg Gard does return a ton of backcourt talent, including Chucky Hepburn, John Blackwell and Max Klesmit. But the roster is experiencing turnover before a critical 2024-25 season.

One bright spot entering that season is top signee Daniel Freitag.
The Bloomington, Minnesota native is 247Sports’ No. 114 player in the class of 2024, No. 10 point guard and No. 2 recruit from the state of Minnesota.
Wisconsin’s lost production could be made up in part by Freitag excelling in his first collegiate season. He has all of the talent in the world, and could become an accomplished Badger — at least given health and him not entering the portal.

Freitag headlines a Wisconsin class of 2024 that finished ranked No. 57 in the nation with only two commits.
