Boston Celtics veteran forward Gordon Hayward was as aggressive and looking for his shot as he has ever been in Sunday’s overtime win over the Orlando Magic — which is great, both in the long- and short-term.
In the short-term, it was what the Celtics needed to carry them past a shorthanded Magic squad that evidently missed the memo that they were supposed to lose, and handily.
In the long-term view, it’s exactly this sort of play that will push the Celtics past their postseason opponents for a deep playoff run in a season where the path to the NBA Finals is as open as it’s been in a decade.
The Butler product scored 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists as one of the only Boston players to turn in a head-turning performance.
So whether you missed the low-energy contest and want to see what folks are talking about when they mention Hayward’s aggressive play, or just want to check out his lucky beard-stache in all its retro glory, be sure to watch the video embedded above.
