While free agency rumors are swirling and mock drafts are heating up as the NBA offseason is off to a sizzling start, one member of the Golden State Warriors started the week off at the yard in San Francisco.
Before the San Francisco Giants hosted the San Diego Padres in the city, Gary Payton II was on the mound to throw out the first pitch in front of Oracle Park’s crowd.
While donning a custom made Payton II No. 8 Giants jersey, the Warriors’ defensive stopper fired a high strike across the dish to San Francisco shortstop Brandon Crawford.

With Payton II in attendance, the Giants put on a show to keep their winning streak alive. After trailing 4-1 throughout most the game, the Giants came alive in the ninth inning to tie the game against the Padres. In extra innings, Mike Yastrzemski crushed a walkoff shot over the right field wall and into the bay as the Giants won the game, 7-4 in extras.
The Giants are now carrying a season-high eight-game winnings streak.
