Former Georgia safety Richard LeCounte is making a name for himself in the NFL already. LeCounte was drafted by the Cleveland Browns this spring in what many consider as the steal of the draft.
LeCounte dropped all the way to the 5th round after playing as one of the top defensive backs in college football at Georgia. This preseason, LeCounte already has two interceptions in two games played.

LeCounte’s first pick came against the Jaguars in the first preseason game.
And just like that, LeCounte comes up with an interception and 28-yard return. This kid could be a gamer. #ballhawk #Browns https://t.co/QRrw7pjsZE pic.twitter.com/5fZwrOu2kP

It’s safe to say LeCounte is poised to outplay his value this season.
Highest-graded non-first round rookies:
▪️ Miller Forristal, Titans – 91.1
▪️ Richard LeCounte, Browns – 90.4
▪️ Darius Hodge, Bengals – 89.9
▪️ Joseph Ossai, Bengals – 89.6 pic.twitter.com/59f19mPgC1— PFF College (@PFF_College) August 17, 2021
This comes as no surprise to people who watched LeCounte’s play closely. The Riceboro, Ga., native has been a ballhawk ever since he graced the field as a Georgia Bulldog in 2017.
You can catch LeCounte’s homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 29 as the Browns take on the Falcons in Atlanta at 8:00 p.m. ET in the final preseason game.
