WATCH: Finding a home with the Charlotte Hornets, Isaiah Thomas speaks on not reuniting with the Boston Celtics

Happy to be back in the league he loves, IT spoke on the lack of Celtics reunion thus far.

Almost from the moment he was traded away to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the deal that brought point guard Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, fans of “the Little Guy” — as beloved Celtics broadcaster Tommy Heinsohn called floor general Isaiah Thomas — have been pushing for a reunion between IT and Boston.

But for a lack of an opportune moment on the Celtics’ side of the equation, that reunion has not materialized, and may never if the early success that the onetime King in the Fourth is having in a new stint in the league with the Charlotte Hornets continues.

Speaking to the media at a recent press conference, the Washington native opened up about that eternally missed connection between himself, his former team, and a fanbase who still loves him greatly.

Check out the clip embedded above via the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast tweet to hear NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin ask IT what the scoop was on this perennial loose end that just can’t seem to close the loop.
