WATCH: Ezekiel Elliott ends Patriots scoring drought with diving touchdown

The Patriots fed Zeke, and it paid off with a touchdown on the first drive of Thursday’s game.

The New England Patriots got the scoring going early to open up Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott scored the first touchdown of the game, but not on the ground. Instead, he connected with quarterback Bailey Zappe for a receiving touchdown.

It was Elliott’s first receiving touchdown of the season and Zappe’s first passing touchdown of the year. The touchdown itself came at the end of an eight-play, 75-yard drive that took 3:48 off the clock.

Zappe completed three-of-four passes on the drive and accumulated 60 yards in total. Elliott had three carries for four yards on the drive.

The Patriots have been looking to get back into the win column for the past several weeks now. Opening drives like this one are certainly a step in the right direction.
