Wisconsin opened its Big Ten schedule with a 38-17 win over Purdue on Friday night. The win moved the Badgers’ win streak in the series to 17 games, making 2003 still the last time it lost to the Boilermakers.
The win also put the Badgers atop the Big Ten West standings. They’re the only team in the division to not lose a game in conference, with Minnesota and Northwestern close behind at 1-1.
The Badgers now sit in their bye week before the schedule starts to get tough. A pesky Rutgers team visits Madison on October 7 before the Badgers host rival Iowa on October 14, travel to Illinois on October 21 and then welcome in Ohio State on October 28.
The season will likely be defined by that upcoming four-game stretch.
