Unlike in recent years, the Rams were carried by their defense this season rather than their offense. Brandon Staley’s unit ranked first in the NFL in points allowed and total defense, also scoring four defensive touchdowns – three by Troy Hill alone.
The offense had its share of struggles, finishing 22nd in points despite gaining the 11th-most yards. The Rams scored 39 offensive touchdowns (20 passing, 19 rushing), though they were hard to come by in the final weeks of the regular season.
