WATCH: Evan Fournier scores 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals vs. Trail Blazers (5/2)

The Frenchman had his first big game since returning from COVID.

It’s been an epic battle for the former Orlando Magic shooting guard, but veteran wing Evan Fournier overcame concussion-like symptoms lingering from a tough bout with COVID-19 to help the Boston Celtics push the Portland Trail Blazers to the final moments of their home loss Sunday night.

The Celtics would fall to Portland 129 – 119 despite Fournier’s 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, with the St. Maurice native shooting a sizzling 8-of-10 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep in 34 minutes of game time with just 1 turnover and 3 personal fouls on the night.

It was easily his best game since returning from a long bout in the NBA’s health and safety protocols on April 23.
