New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick took to the podium Thursday and delivered a passionate speech about his mother, Jeannette, who passed away this week at 98.
A bond rooted in football, and above all else, family.

The coach thanked everyone who expressed their condolences toward himself about his mom. He specifically mentioned Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh. The Patriots play the Seahawks Sunday in Seattle.
Belichick spoke of being an only child and how he close he was with his parents, whom he said he “learned pretty much everything from them.”
Belichick said his mom was a “great woman” and praised the love she gave to her grandkids.
