After dropping a season-high four consecutive games, the Golden State Warriors needed to start strong to have a chance at ending their skid on Sunday against the Utah Jazz.
The Warriors answered the bell early, building an 11 point lead in the opening 12 minutes of the contest. On Golden State’s way to a 33 point first quarter, Steph Curry tallied 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field with four assists.
Despite the Jazz hitting back in the second quarter, the Warriors held strong with a solid showing from the second unit.
With time ticking down, Draymond Green put an exclamation point on Golden State’s impressive first half. Bringing the ball up the court, Green exploded past Utah’s defense to hammer down an emphatic slam dunk. The former Defensive Player of the Year’s dunk sealed a 13 point lead heading into the halftime break.

On the way to Golden State’s 131-119 victory over the Jazz, Green recorded his second triple-double of the season with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in 36 minutes. To stick with the Los Angeles Lakers on the second leg of a back-to-back on Monday, the Warriors will need a similar performance from Green.
