North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye is gearing up for his second season as a starter for the Tar Heels. While UNC got off to a good start backed behind Maye’s play, they faltered down the stretch and finished 9-5.
Going into this year, Maye and the team are using that finish as motivation and trying to get over the hump. But before they hit the field, the program was represented by Mack Brown, Maye, Cedric Gray, and John Copenhaver at the 2023 ACC Kickoff event. The event previews the upcoming season for every team over a three-day span.
Following the event, Maye appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter to talk about the upcoming season. Watch that interview below:
For Maye, he’s entering this year as one of the Heisman Trophy favorites coming off a monster season. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the country and will be battling it out with USC’s Caleb Williams for being the top pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
If Maye does have another big year and the defense can figure out, the Tar Heels should be in great shape. And they could make a run at the ACC title.
