Despite what Raekwon Davis would have you believe, he’s absolutely a worthy member of the “mic’d up” club at Miami Dolphins training camp. The past week has brought a lot of entertainment value on the mic with the likes of Jerome Baker and Tua Tagovailoa being “hot” for practice — and the Dolphins decided to strap Davis up on Saturday and let him show everyone what life is like up front for a member of the Dolphins defensive line.
And, with an assist to IDL Christian Wilkins and a cameo by Brian Flores, the decision paid off and offered Dolphins fans their latest look behind the scenes at camp.

Davis is entering the season with big expectations after a strong second half to hi rookie season with the Dolphins — and he’s expected to fill a vital role for Miami as the looming presence in the middle that makes it tough to run between the tackles on the Dolphins. Miami has made a number of other upgrades to help boost their run defense, but Davis is going to be the keystone in the middle of it all.
The depth the Dolphins can boast up front along the defensive line should help to keep Davis fresh and operating at his best in the early downs, but the great mystery with him will be whether or not there is untapped potential as a pass rusher that has yet to be uncovered. Davis had one successful season rushing the passer at Alabama but otherwise has been much more of a run defender over the last three years.
Growth on third downs would take Davis’ projection to the next level, but he’ll still be plenty valuable to the Dolphins if he simply continues to level up his consistency and dominance in his current role. And, like his mic’d up session, that would be plenty entertaining.
