The Orange Bowl on Saturday came down to the final few minutes and it was a Texas A&M freshman, Devon Achane, who delivered the knockout punch to North Carolina.
The Aggies went on to a 41-27 victory over the Tar Heels but the big play came when Achane took off down the sideline for a 76-yard run that broke a 27-27 tie.
Texas A&M , ranked fifth and seeded the same in the CFP, finished the season 9-1. Mack Brown’s Tar Heels wind up 8-4.

Achane wound up with 12 carries for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was subbing for running back Isaiah Spiller, who had 11 carries for 50 yards and a pair of scores before being sidelined.
As for North Carolina and the ACC …
Weirdness of entire season duly noted, but 0-6 bowl record is ACC's first winless postseason since 0-2 in 1983. ACC the first Power Five conference with more than three bowl teams to go winless in a postseason.
