The 49ers badly needed a touchdown, so they turned to rookie wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
Samuel took a handoff nine yards to open the drive. Then he went 19 yards on a screen pass. Then on first-and-10 from the Rams’ 19, Samuel took another handoff around the left side for a touchdown.

Samuel this season has 11 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been as versatile in the NFL as he was in college.
