The New England Patriots might be interested in DeAndre Hopkins, but from the looks of it, Hopkins may not be interested in joining the Patriots. Even worse, it would appear as if Hopkins is more interested in joining the Patriots’ AFC East rival Buffalo Bills.
Hold on to your stomachs and grab a paper sack for this one, Patriots fans.
Hopkins, the five-time Pro Bowl receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, is believed to be on the trade block ahead of the 2023 season. However, the Cardinals have struggled to make a move via trade, which has some believing there’s a chance the team could just release the 30-year-old star receiver outright.
When speaking with Bryant McFadden on the All Things Covered podcast, Hopkins played a game where he responded with facial expressions when given a team he could potentially join.
The Patriots were the first team thrown out as an option, and Hopkins’ response was a major disappointment for fans hoping to see him catching passes from Mac Jones.

The options aren’t all dried up if Hopkins really doesn’t want to be in New England. A trade could still come together for Denver Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy, which could actually be a better option considering he’s seven years younger than Hopkins.
The opportunity for the Patriots to make a splash at receiver in the 2023 NFL draft is also a possibility with top skilled players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zay Flowers and Quentin Johnston emerging as top targets.
Hopkins’ response is a major bummer, but it’s far from over for the Patriots.
