The Cowboys called upon a western to announce their 2023 schedule. Paramount’s “Yellowstone” is a hit show that features about as many cowboy hats as AT&T Stadium during football season. At the start of the video, the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan is on the phone with Jerry Jones, who presents the idea of Dallas players auditioning for casting spots in his show. The result is a mix of confusion and hilarious auditions from Cowboys stars.
Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb starts it, proclaiming he has “the quickest hands in the west” which may be true. Sheridan’s expressions are the star of the show, as he’s dumbfounded by the performances. The best may have been the big guys with Neville Gallimore and Osa Odighizuwa performing a duet of “Home on the Range” which leads to laughter from Sheridan.
Almost every Cowboy who features dons a cowboy hat of their own and there’s even a cameo from former Dallas wide receiver Dez Bryant, followed by a feature of the triplets: Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.
In fitting fashion, Leighton Vander-Esch walks in and it appears he came straight from the show. “Hired,” proclaims Sheridan, who was clearly annoyed at the time. At the end, Jones walks in like a main character and delivers a speech about the Cowboys brand and they shake hands.
All this time, not one mention about the schedule and then the entire schedule rolls as if their credits. The post-credit scene features Jones riding in a horse carriage, which doesn’t seem that crazy for the Dallas owner. In the end, a pretty entertaining video with a lot of cowboy vibes to represent America’s Team.
