Most fans of the Boston Celtics have written off hope of the rift between the members of the 2008 Banner 17 title team ever being mended, but in recent months and weeks, there have been signs of a thaw in that particular cold war.
It began some time ago when Paul Pierce and Ray Allen began mending fences and accelerated over the course of the last Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame induction that put Allen, Pierce, and Kevin Garnett under one roof. Now, after Garnett went out of his way to give kudos to the UConn product on his making the NBA’s 75 greatest players list, The Truth hinted that something even cooler might be possible.
Speaking with Hall of Fame Celtics forward Cedric Maxwell on that player’s eponymous CLNS Media podcast, Pierce suggested Allen might end up being the first guest of a long-rumored new series featuring The Big Ticket and Pierce on Showtime.
This would of course make quite a few Celtics fans who have been over that beef for years quite happy, and the content would of course be golden.
