WATCH: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels showing off his speed

Daniels showing off his wheels in training camp.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels won the Heisman Trophy in 2023 because he passed for almost 4,000 yards with 40 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

But Daniels was so outstanding as a passer in his final collegiate season at LSU that it was sometimes easy to overlook his brilliance as a runner. Daniels rushed for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, averaging over eight yards per attempt.

Sunday marked Day 4 of Commanders’ training camp in Ashburn. It was the first day fans could attend this summer, and Daniels wasted no time showing off his speed to those in attendance.

Here’s a video of Daniels running a play that’s sure to be a staple in offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury’s playbook via X user Reedie & Zee:

Daniels was only going half-speed here, too. Imagine when he turns on the jets once he sees an opening.
