WATCH: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels scores 4th career rushing touchdown

Jayden Daniels with his fourth rushing touchdown of the season.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels couldn’t be perfect forever. In the second quarter of Washington’s Week 4 game at Arizona, after completing his first seven passes, Daniels threw his first career interception.

How would he respond?

Daniels went right back to work, with Washington’s defense playing its best game of the season so far, forcing an Arizona punt. Just before halftime, with around 30 seconds on the clock, Daniels took the Commanders down the field for an Austin Seibert field goal and a 17-7 halftime lead.

Daniels even had a message for the Cardinals.

The Commanders would open the second half with the ball, and the rookie quarterback wasted no time putting his team back in scoring position. And, facing a first-and-goal from the 9-yard line, Daniels called his own number with a nine-yard touchdown run to push Washington’s lead to 24-7 early in the third quarter.

Here’s the play:

Daniels made some history with that score, too.

Daniels has the Commanders in position to win their third consecutive game up big on the Cardinals in the fourth quarter.
