WATCH: Colts open game vs. Steelers with big pass play

Watch as the Colts started the game against the Steelers with a big passing play from Anthony Richardson to Michael Pittman.

The Indianapolis Colts started with the ball against the Pittsburgh Steelers and came out throwing.

On the very first play of the game, the Colts ran play-action, with the offensive line providing Anthony Richardson with plenty of time, allowing Michael Pittman time to get open on a deep crossing route for 32 yards.

After that play, the Colts turned to their running game to help them finish out the drive.

Jonathan Taylor would carry the ball five times, totaling 29 yards, or a whopping5.8 yards per rush, eventually finding the end zone. Head coach Shane Steichen also mixed in a designed run for Richardson as well.

Richardson was 1-for-2 on the drive for 32 yards with a nine yard rush.

Against what has been a very stingy Steelers defense that entered Sunday’s game allowing just 8.7 points per game, you couldn’t ask for a better start from the Colts.

This drive is what the Colts’ offensive blueprint needs to look like: a heavy dose of the running game with some downfield shot plays mixed in.
