WATCH: Chris Grier, Mike McDaniel tell CB Cam Smith he’s going to be a Dolphin

Of course the head coach had to ask about his shoe game.

After waiting through a full first round of selections, the Miami Dolphins finally got to be on the clock on Friday night at No. 51 overall.

General manager Chris Grier used that pick on South Carolina cornerback Cam Smith, adding him to a cornerback room that already featured Xavien Howard and Jalen Ramsey.

The team’s social media accounts shared the moment when Smith found out that he was going to wear aqua and orange, as he received a phone call from Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel.

Of course, McDaniel wanted to talk football and his excitement to get to work, but he couldn’t resist throwing in a question about his footwear.
