Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones is known as an energy-giver. You know he’s one of those players that is good at getting his teammates energized. He also excels at getting the Arrowhead Stadium crowd riled up.
Jones was as energetic as ever in Week 9 vs. the Carolina Panthers and the team had him mic’d up for the game.
“Somebody has got to be sane because I’m going to get insane,” Jones told his teammates ahead of the game.
Jones had a dominant performance against the Panthers, recording his season-high in pressures with seven. He definitely got a little bit crazy when playing against these NFC opponents. He tried to get his teammates a little crazy too.
“Hell yeah,” Jones shouted at cornerback Bashaud Breeland after he made a tackle. “That’s the way you hit, boy! That’s the way you hit!”
As I said, Jones’ energy is infectious and you can tell in moments like that. We even get a glimpse of his leadership manifest on the sideline too. Jones says, “Hey D-Line, we’ve got to hit the quarterback, we’ve got to protect these guys.” In that moment he’s referring to protecting the secondary.
