Even though a sizable portion of the Boston Celtics front court couldn’t suit up against the Washington Wizards on Friday, Jan. 8, the Celtics nearly ran away with the game early, only ending the contest with a close score because they took their foot of the gas just as the Wizards started to get hot from 3-point range.
The game saw the Jay Team — Boston’s twin star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum — carry the scoring load as they have been this season, and solid games from veteran guard Marcus Smart, rookie floor general Payton Pritchard and a breakout game from two way big man Tacko Fall.

In what looked like a potential trap game given the overall health of the roster in recent days despite Washington’s early struggles, Boston pulled out a highly entertaining victory nonetheless, winning 116 – 107.
