WATCH: Celtics rookie Payton Pritchard scores 15 points, 7 rebounds vs. Cavs

The rookie floor general is moving into range of Jayson Tatum’s single-season franchise 3-point record.

First-year Boston Celtics floor general Payton Pritchard has been a steady source of offense off the bench in his inaugural campaign with the team, and despite a generally poor showing from the team overall in Wednesday’s road game against the East’s 13th-place Cleveland Cavaliers, Pritchard continued to show his value.

The Oregon product put up 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in 26 minutes of playing time off the bench, fouling twice with 0 turnovers. Fast PP also had a bit of a rough shooting night overall, going 5-of-13 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the stripe, but hit an efficient 4 of his 9 3-point attempts.

Interestingly, Pritchard is just 8 treys shy of Jayson Tatum’s rookie record of 105 with Boston in his inaugural season of 2017-18 with two games remaining.
