In today’s NBA, a league more focused than ever on 3-point shooters has perhaps never been less interested in the development of big men who do not have that tool in their arsenal. But that does not mean that such players can’t be a part of a winning formula with enough other tools at their disposal.
The problem is that there is a dearth of big men coaches in the league to teach the skills which could push players like Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams III into truly elite territory skill-wise — try and imagine the havoc Timelord could wreak with a reliable turnaround jumper from the midrange, for example.
And such was a topic of conversation between Celtics Wire and Boston Hall of Fame center Robert Parish in a recent interview, where Chief not only expressed interest in such an opportunity but outlined how he might offer advice to Williams to take his game to the next level.
Watch the clip from our friends at CLNS Media embedded above to hear Parish’s thoughts on how his fellow Louisiana native can help his game with just a few simple suggestions and a little expert help.
