WATCH: Celtics’ Jayson Tatum scores 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists vs. 76ers

The Duke product had a solid night, but it was far from enough to get the job done against Philadelphia alone.

It certainly isn’t a game he wants to remember, but Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum was one of very few bright spots in the team’s 106 – 96 home loss to the Eastern Conference’s first-place Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday night.

The St. Louis native led the team in scoring with 20 points, 4 rebounds, as many assists and a steal on 7-of-17 shooting (including a rough 3-of-10 from beyond the arc), while only getting to the free throw line three times, converting them all. As has been the case all season, the Celtics struggled in the absence of good ball movement, pointing to structural problems with the team’s roster in its current state.

Tatum did his best to make the situation better, but the team will need more than the Duke product and teammate Jaylen Brown jacking up whatever shots he can manage to create for himself to best the likes of teams like the 76ers.
