WATCH: Celtics’ Jayson Tatum explains why dunking on LeBron James changed his career

It was a flashbulb moment for the ages.

We all remember that amazing moment, the very instant when Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum dunked on perennial NBA G.O.A.T. candidate and Los Angeles Laker superstar LeBron James (then with the Cleveland Cavaliers). Tatum put the league and the world on notice that Tatum and his Celtics would be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.

The St. Louis native himself of course could not possibly forget such a transcendent experience, a true career benchmark in the form of an aggressive cut to the basket over one of the best to play the game on either ends of the court.

In a recent appearance on retired NBA player JJ Redick’s “Old Man and the Three” podcast, the Duke product recalled that moment and his thoughts immediately afterwards, describing how it changed the course of his career in the league.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear his words in full.
