WATCH: Carlton Davis picks off Desmond Ridder, Bucs score after

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a much needed turnover and cashed in for the score late in the first quarter and into the early second.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense had a tough time on the Atlanta Falcons’ first drive of the day, but it made up for it once the Falcons got the ball back.

Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder threw a pass he intended to serve as a short screen, but Bucs cornerback Carlton Davis made a great read and stepped in front of it to pick it off. He ran it into the end zone, but the referees ruled that he was down at the eight-yard line. Luckily, that wouldn’t be a problem for the Bucs offense.

Tampa Bay cashed in anyway, as quarterback Baker Mayfield ran in a touchdown from the two-yard line to score the touchdown. The score put the Bucs ahead 10-3, but the Falcons would respond on the ensuing drive on a Kyle Pitts deep ball to make the score 10-10 all in the second quarter.
