WATCH: Can Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum take Boston to the promised land?

Boston’s star duo has work to do if so.

Two steps forward, one step back has been the mantra of the Boston Celtics for the last season and a half or so as the team has struggled to find firm footing under the leadership of the team’s two young star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

Is the consistency problem rooted in their youth and comparative inexperience in a leadership role, or is there a more fundamental issue — or issues — that are producing the Celtics’ uneven play? Beating the best teams in the NBA on some nights while falling to teams struggling to remain relevant on others is simply an exercise in exhaustion for fans at this point.

Can this core of Tatum and Brown carry the Celtics to the promised land in the long term? The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The A-List” Kwani A. Lunis and A. Sherrod Blakeley are joined by the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn to talk about the potential that the duo has for the future.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear everything they have to say about the status quo of Boston’s roster, and what needs to change in the future.
