The Rams haven’t gotten a ton out of their rookies this season, which has been a point of frustration for fans, but their first-year players showed up on Monday night against the Bucs.
After Van Jefferson scored his first career touchdown and Jordan Fuller picked off the first pass of his NFL career, Cam Akers joined the rookie party. He scored his first touchdown as a pro in the third quarter, a 4-yard reception from Jared Goff.
Akers’ opportunities have been limited all year, but he got some playing time against the Buccaneers, turning his first five touches of the night into 15 yards and a touchdown.
