WATCH: Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics 113-89 preseason video recap 12/18

The Celtics have a lot of work to do to get into game shape – and very little time to do it in.

Friday night, the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets learned some things about their respective teams as they met at TD Garden to play a preseason exhibition, and the data coming back on each end of the court couldn’t be much further apart.

Brooklyn is playing cohesively and with a sense of purpose with both stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant looking themselves after returning from injury, while Boston is clearly out of sorts in terms of both their play on the court and their health. Sans Kemba Walker, Tristan Thompson and Romeo Langford, the hope was that between the established bench players and the rookies, that some sort of functional bench rotation could be found.

And while the rotation did not flash brilliant against a likely top-three foe in the East, there were a few positives on a night when the starters continued to have problems finding the bottom of the net.
