Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers’ offense made a statement on their first drive of the NFL season.
After Drake Jackson and their defense forced a quick three-and-out in the opening minutes of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Purdy led a clinical drive down the season that was polished off by a touchdown.
Following a fourth-and-one conversion to George Kittle, Purdy finished a perfect passing drive with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Aiyuk. Purdy opened the season with a 3-for-3 passing drive with 25 yards through the air. Purdy hit three different receivers on the drive.

On his way to a touchdown catch, Aiyuk’s precision route running left Steelers’ veteran corner Patrick Petterson on the ground.
