WATCH: Brian Robinson Jr. scores his first NFL touchdown

Brian Robinson Jr. scored his first NFL touchdown on Thursday Night Football.

The Washington Commanders may be hard to watch thus far this season, but rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. remains one of the NFL’s feel-good stories of the young season.

Robinson, who returned last week after being shot twice in the leg in August, made his first NFL start at running back on Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

Robinson started off slowly but appeared to get stronger as the game progressed. After a Chicago fumble gave the Commanders a first and goal with eight minutes remaining in the game, Robinson went to work.

The rookie carried the ball for five yards on first down, helped by a Carson Wentz block. Then, on the next play, Robinson takes the handoff and pushes his way into the end zone, giving the Commanders a 12-7 lead.

It was Robinson’s first NFL touchdown, and he finished the game with 17 carries for 60 yards and scored Washington’s lone touchdown.
