Aaron Donald faced what might be the best guard in the NFL on Sunday afternoon when he and Colts All-Pro Quenton Nelson went at it play after play during the Rams’ 27-24 win in Week 2. It was a battle between two powerful and physically imposing players, going back and forth throughout the game.
Donald won some reps against the stud guard, but Nelson also got the better of the Rams’ all-world pass rusher on more than a few occasions. The Rams were wise to move Donald around and get him matchups with other players, but regardless of where he lined up, he was double-teamed often – even when going up against Nelson.
Brian Baldinger broke down this heavyweight fight as part of his Baldy’s Breakdowns on Sunday night. He saw each player win some reps, but based on the plays he cut up, it looked like Donald was the more frequent winner when not doubled.
.@rams @AaronDonald97 v @colts @BigQ56 2 great players going at it for much of the night. Here are a few of the head to head matchups #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/foTHNXRymp
