It’s been a revolving door in the return game for the Rams this season, but Brandon Powell may have solved those woes. In the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Vikings, Powell returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown.
It was just the second punt return for a touchdown in the NFL this season, with Jakeem Grant being the only other player to do it. This is the Rams’ first non-offensive touchdown of the year, too, and it couldn’t have come at a better time with the Rams up 13-10 despite Matthew Stafford’s three interceptions.
Credit goes to the blocking in front of Powell, but the speedy returner found the right lanes and took it all the way back to the house.

Powell is the Rams’ first player to return a punt for a touchdown since September 2015 when Tavon Austin scored on a punt return.
