WATCH: Boston’s Romeo Langford gets 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting vs. Heat

The third-year wing might be ready for a bigger role.

In one of his best games yet as a Boston Celtic, third-year wing Romeo Langford managed to put up the kind of numbers against the Miami Heat on Friday’s preseason finale that gives you hope that the Indiana product might just make the leap forward this season both he and the Celtics need.

His defense was as solid as ever, Langford shot with confidence, putting up 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block while shooting a sizzling 7-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc with just 1 personal foul and turnover each as a starter on the floor for 28 minutes of game time. While it might have only been a preseason contest, it is exactly what you’d hope to see from the New Albany native — and hopefully a harbinger of what’s to come.
