WATCH: Boston’s Marcus Smart gets 21 points, 8 boards, 6 assists vs. Toronto Raptors

The Flower Mound native was Boston’s best player north of the border.

If it were not for the play of veteran point guard Marcus Smart, the Boston Celtics very well may have returned to the United States with a losing record, the Flower Mound native having proven a critical part of the Celtics’ 109 – 97 road win over the Toronto Raptors.

Smart put up a team-high 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, shooting a very solid 7-of-16 from the floor, 4-of-10 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line in 36 minutes of playing time. The biggest complaints to have about his game were the 5 fouls and 4 turnovers, but without the Oklahoma State product’s play, it is hard to see an easy path to victory, so it’s really a minor quibble.
