While Boston Celtics veteran point guard Dennis Schroder is not without critics of his game, it would be hard to look at what he turned in Friday night against the defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks without being impressed with the scoring he brought to the table in All-Star forward Jaylen Brown’s absence.
The German floor general scored the second-highest point total of his career in the 122 – 113 overtime home win, putting up 38 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal in 41 minutes of playing time, shooting 16-of-27 from the floor, 3-of-9 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Schroder made a point of reminding people he is one of the more lethal guards in the league when getting downhill to the basket and provided a critical source of offense to help the Celtics improve their record to 6 – 6 for the season.
