The Boston Celtics stumbled again as they fell to a hungry Miami Heat squad 112 – 106 despite being down star small forward Jimmy Butler, out with a sore ankle.
Trailing for the entire game, the Celtics dug out of a deep hole excavated with poor shooting and too many fouls dooming the team despite their best efforts to fight back.
Shooting a mere 43.5 % from the field and a brutal 30.3 % from beyond the arc, Boston beat themselves as much as Miami took the win from them — an unfortunate turn of events after Sunday’s invigorating victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
If you want to take a closer look at what went wrong for the Celtics — or just happen to be a glutton for punishment — watch the video embedded above.
Hopefully Boston will turn it around Wednesday night when they take on a Brooklyn Nets squad that’s fresh off of beating the mighty Milwaukee Bucks — though not if they shoot that way for the second night in a row.
