After two hard seasons of gradual recovery, Boston Celtics All-Star forward Gordon Hayward finally looks more like himself again, cutting to the basket aggressively, dunking with authority, and hitting deep treys with confidence.
Working his way back from a catastrophic injury sustained at the start of his Celtics tenure, even this season had some bumps for the Butler product — ranging from a fractured hand right up to the pandemic currently taking the entire league out of action.
Hayward is averaging 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game so far this season, the most since his last season as an All-Star in 2016-17, just before he sustained the career-altering injury to his leg.
