A mere night removed from winning the Heisman Trophy, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow showed up on the CBS Sports pregame show.
There, he encountered Cincinnati Bengals legend Boomer Esiason, who promptly gifted Burrow a Bengals helmet, as seen in the tweet above.
Burrow is the consensus top quarterback in the 2020 draft, where the Bengals figure to have a top-three pick and could consider the position. It’d be fitting on many levels as Andy Dalton nears the end of his contract, but largely because Burrow is a local kid who played ball in Athens.
As the season winds down and draft season really gets going, the Burrow-Bengals connection will only strengthen — Esiason just got out ahead of the curve.
