Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton announced Bo Nix as the team’s starting quarterback on Wednesday. A few moments after Payton finished speaking with the media, Nix spoke at the podium for the first time as QB1.

Nix, 24, will become the team’s 14th starting quarterback in the post-Peyton Manning era and their first rookie QB to start in Week 1 since John Elway.
During his media availability, Nix was asked if he had told his family yet.
“They probably have already heard from you guys,” the QB said. “We will talk about it later, I’m sure. They will be excited, and they will all tell me the same thing, which is it doesn’t change a thing. You have to go back and work. Now, the expectations and the standards are even higher. Have to get back to doing the main thing and keeping that the main thing.”
After wrapping up preseason this weekend, Nix and the Broncos will turn their attention toward a Week 1 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.
