Watch: Blake Griffin throws down first dunk with the Brooklyn Nets

In his Nets debut, Blake Griffin dunked for the first time since 2019.

Blake Griffin was among the most thunderous dunkers in the NBA during his prime, but the six-time All-Star and 2011 Dunk Contest champ hasn’t been playing an above-the-rim style of basketball in several years.

Entering his Brooklyn Nets debut on Sunday against the Washington Wizards, Griffin had last dunked in December of 2019, but promised fans prior to his arrival with the Nets that he could still throw it down. In the fourth quarter, Griffin scored his first points as a Net in a way that caused his own bench to lose it.

Catching the ball at the top of the arc, Griffin pump-faked to draw out his defender, then blew by and elevated from outside the restricted area for a vintage dunk.

The Nets went on to win, 113-106.
