There were some surreal sights around the NFL Week 1, including an epidemic of missed field goals, Tom Brady in a Buccaneers uniform and former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton starting his first game for the Patriots in his place.
As we expected, New England’s elite coaching staff put Newton’s skillset to use in interesting ways. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels used a variety of QB run concepts for Cam, who finished the game with 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Watch Patriots coach Bill Belichick break down Newton’s debut in New England, which ended in a 21-11 win over the Dolphins.
For the NFL crowd: Bill Belichick breaking down the film from Cam Newton’s first game as a Patriot.
