Watch: Ben DiNucci’s first drive as starter leads to Cowboys lead

The Dallas Cowboys take an early lead by way of field goal after the opening drive.

Okay, so maybe this isn’t a normal highlight post from the Cowboys Wire, but given the way the 2020 season has played out for the Dallas Cowboys, an opening drive field goal from Greg Zuerlein seemed worthy enough.

Quarterback Ben DiNucci, who wasn’t supposed to see the field for even a single snap in his rookie campaign made two decent plays on a drive that resulted in a rarity for the Cowboys, an early lead. He found himself as one of the lead blockers on a double reverse to CeeDee Lamb and did the job admirably, check it out here.

He also completed a 3rd-and-7 pass to Lamb as well. Ultimately a sack put the offense too far behind the sticks to convert, but a 3-0 lead is nothing to sneeze at for a team that has led for a minimal amount of time on the season.
