Watch: Andrew Whitworth tests out knee on practice field

Andrew Whitworth is making a push to return in Week 17 or for the postseason.

Andrew Whitworth isn’t like most 39-year-olds. Not only is he still playing left tackle in the NFL, but he’s doing so at an extremely high level. And despite suffering a setback in Week 10 when he tore his MCL and injured his PCL, he’s fighting his way back every day to be ready for the Rams’ postseason run.

Sean McVay said Thursday that Whitworth could be back as early as Week 17 if the Rams really push him, and based on the left tackle’s latest rehab video, that shouldn’t be out of the question.

On Friday, Whitworth posted a video on his Instagram story of himself going through an on-field drill, kicking out to his left and testing his injured knee, which is wrapped in a sleeve and brace.

Joe Noteboom has played well at left tackle, but there’s simply no replacing a guy like Whitworth – both on the field and in the locker room. The Rams will be grateful to have him back whenever that time comes, be it in the next few weeks or to start the postseason.
