After a long tedious week of trade rumors, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara came to work angry with a point to prove against the Las Vegas Raiders. He entered the game with no touchdowns on the season and left the first half with two big rushing scores.

His first capped off the Saints second drive of the day, with a 3-yard run at the goal line to give New Orleans a 7-0 lead. His second touchdown was an extremely strong run after a catch where he was able to showcase his balance through contact, catching a 2-yard checkdown and then ricocheting off of several Raiders defenders for 14 more yards. He scored by extending his arm out and reaching the goal line after the 16-yard pickup. The Saints went up 17-0 after the score, giving them a much-needed lead near halftime.

What’s more, NFL Research found that Kamara is the first player in league history to record 10 games with at least 1 rushing and 1 receiving touchdown in his first six seasons. He’s a record-setter, and he isn’t finished yet. He needs just two more touchdowns to tie the franchise record Marques Colston set in black and gold (scoring 72 career touchdowns). It’s good to see Kamara end his scoring drought, and if he keeps this up he’ll surpass Colston with quickness.
