While Bears training camp is still a few weeks away, that hasn’t stopped Chicago’s top wideouts Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney from training together outside Halas Hall.
Robinson and Mooney anchor a loaded receivers room that will see some competition for the other four spots this summer. While Robinson and Mooney had impressive seasons with Chicago last year, they can certainly build on it with more consistent quarterback play.
Robinson and Mooney have been training together in Miami with fitness trainer Jeff Phillips of Goal Figure Fitness. Phillips shared some more video of Robinson and Mooney working on running routes, and it’s hard not to get excited about what this duo could accomplish this season for the Bears.
Darnell Mooney looks like he’s floating. 😟

While it’s only the offseason, it’s hard not to watch Mooney and think he’s not due for a breakout season. Mooney flashed as a rookie, where he had 61 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns. Mooney has become a legit deep threat for Chicago, but the problem has been deep-ball accuracy, something that should see improvement with the addition of Justin Fields and Andy Dalton.
The only question surrounding Robinson is his future with the team after him and the Bears haven’t gotten a long-term deal done yet. Robinson appears set to play on the franchise tag — unless a deal gets done ahead of July 15 — and he’ll become a free agent in 2022, where Chicago would be faced with using the tag again and paying him $21 million.
While the Bears offense has had its share of struggles, there’s plenty to look forward to in the future, including the duo of Robinson and Mooney in 2021.
