PISCATAWAY, N.J. — True freshman Ajilah Clark got the first interception of his collegiate career, the former four-star recruit coming up with a big play to keep Rutgers in the game in the fourth quarter of what would be a 31-13 loss to No. 11 Michigan State.
Down 28-13 with 5:47 left in the fourth quarter, the young defensive back showed concentration and focus in catching a ball that went through the hands of Michigan State wide receiver Jalen Nailor, getting it just a shade before it would have hit the turf.
The interception gave Rutgers some life as they tried to mount a comeback against the program’s third ranked opponent in as many weeks. Clark finished the game with a tackle and an interception.
